Microneedling (CIT)

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury which ceates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through the repair process, there is visible improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and pore size. Bonus, it provides the treated skin with 97% better product absorption, which is also why it is so important to use the proper aftercare products.***Fun Fact*** When you turn 25 years old, your collagen goes dormant (which is why you begin to see signs of aging). This is the only proven treatment to stimulate BOTH collagen type 1 & 3 for up to two years!

How to prepare for your Microneedling treatment?

Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning bed at least 4 weeks prior to treatment and during treatment process, do not exercise day of, or the day after treatment, avoid Retin-A, chemical peels, fillers, or Botox for at least 10 days prior to treatment, wear a UVA/UVB SPF daily, and drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.

What to expect post treatment?

Day 1 - Skin will be flushed after the treatment and makeup shouldn't be applied for at least 2 hours.

Day 2 - A red or pink hue may persist like a moderate sunburn. Swelling and slight bruising may happen. Apply serums and SPF.

Day 3 - Skin should still appear pink. All swelling will have mostly subsided. Skin may feel dry or tight. A slight outbreak or acne is possible and light peeling may occur.

How many treatments will I need?

We HIGHLY recommend that you commit to a series of 3-6 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart to achieve the best results. Results will be noticeable after 3-4 weeks and will continue for approximately 5-6 months after your series is completed.

Does it hurt?

We use a topical numbing cream to help desensitize the skin.

Contraindications for Microneedling:
